Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. At the age five she moved from London to Oxfordshire where she studied at The Dragon School. Emma had a dream to be a professional actress since she was six. She was enrolled at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford, an acting institute with part-time courses. From the age of 10 she was involved and played the leading role in a number of Stagecoach School plays and productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, the 2001 film adaptation to J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Emma was identified by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone, and Ron Weasley told Emma after eight auditions that she had been selected for the parts. Emma was chosen to play alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's first screen appearance came with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's debut in 2001. The movie beat all previous records for opening day and weekend revenues, and was the most-recorded 2001 movie. The film has been praised by critics for its film, as well as the performance by three main young actors. The Daily Telegraph in Britain that is distributed widely, called her performance commendable. Emma received the Young Artist Award as the leading young actress in a feature Film. Emma was nominated five times for her part in the film.
